This is an OEM Vermont Castings Rear Brick that works with the Montpelier & Stratton wood inserts. This is a genuine replacement part (proper fit and quality testing) and not an aftermarket brick as seen on some websites.
Vermont Castings Part Number: 30004326 (same as 3000-4326)
Purpose: Firebricks helps insulate the firebox resulting in a great heat output and efficiency. If the brick is cracked or distorted make sure you replace it. If you don’t you may run the risk of warping or cracking or warping the stove. the stove.
