These high density Fire Bricks will work with most wood stoves that take standard sized fire bricks (9″ x 4.5″ x 1.25″). Many modern wood stoves ship with lighter density fire bricks, generally this is to save on shipping costs – these heavier density bricks will work just as well and will outlast the lighter density bricks as well.
Notes: When inspecting the fire bricks in your stove, you may notice some that are cracked. These are generally fine and don’t need to be replaced. If there are pieces of the brick that are crumbled or missing then you should replace the brick as soon as possible. This will help avoid damage and warping of your stove.
Some stoves require a few bricks of smaller size. These bricks can be cut to size using a masonry blade. It’s a good idea to order a few extra bricks so you have some on hand in case one needs to be replaced right away.
