The purpose of the catalytic probe thermometer is to help with regulating the performance of the catalyst. To check if your probe needs replacing ensure that it extends an inch to an inch and a half into the chamber and that it is not warped or damaged in any way. If this probe is damaged it will likely affect the performance of the catalytic combustor.
